Hart Beach since 1971
The late Etsko Schuitema, founding father of Hart Beach, started his surfing concept at the Vissershavenweg in the early 1970s. Bringing together people who feel connected to the surfing world was his dream. Raised on the beach and with this in mind we, Romke and Paul Schuitema, as brothers, have continued the family business since 2004. Together we have created a place to surf, to be together and to enjoy healthy and delicious food. By traveling around the world for years, gaining new experiences and meeting special people, we finally created the current Hart Beach in which we have realized our own surf dream.
Our (surfing) chef & his team
At the head of our kitchen is Julien, a surfer in heart and soul. Also known as "The Surfing Chef", this master chef is almost always in his wetsuit in the Hart Beach kitchen. Every six months, together with his team, he composes a new, seasonal menu full of delicious dishes, starring fresh and organic ingredients. Not only because we take the environment into account, but also because those products simply taste best in your drink and the dishes. Our menu includes delicious smoothies and surfy breakfasts, rich sandwiches and homemade soups, finger-licking snacks and healthy meals to satisfy your appetite after a nice surfing session.
We are particularly proud of our extensive beer menu, which contains a wide range of beers from all over the world. Imagine yourself back in Bali with an ice-cold Bintang or four Hawaiian on the weekend by ordering one of the Kona Brewing Co. beers. We have also developed our own line of Hart Beach beers in cooperation with Berging Brouwerij.
The wines we serve are carefully selected together with our partners Sanders and Marius. They look for wines that focus on uniqueness, individuality and drinking pleasure. Completely in line with our surf core you will find Ziobaffa wines and several bottles of Le Petit Berticot on our menu. Wines from surfing regions or completely inspired by surf trips. Hopefully you will enjoy these wines as much as we do!

The surf restaurant is run by our enthusiastic surf crew. Both the Kitchen and the hospitality team consists, in addition to our permanent employees, of a flexible team of employees who are absolutely indispensable to us. We are very proud of all these top restaurants.
