6/5mm Men Wetsuits
For the absolute cold water warriors, there are wetsuits with a thickness of 6 mm neoprene. Thick neoprene contains large closed air cells. These air cells retain your body heat in an insulating way, and therefore keep you warm longer in cold water. You are not supposed to stay dry in a wetsuit. It functions in a way that a thin layer of water between the wetsuit and body is kept warm. 6 mm wetsuits are especially suitable for water temperatures below 5 degrees. So, you could think of surf spots located in Scandinavia, Ireland or the Baltic Sea.
All 6 mm wetsuits come with a cap that is permanently attached to the wetsuit. With this cap, you are able to retain body heat that you would otherwise lose through your head. Your ears are also well protected against the cold and wind. To ensure that you can surf as long as possible, the wetsuits also have a lining, taped or sealed seams and/or single-lined neoprene. In extreme cold water temperatures, it is important to keep yourself warm to prevent hypothermia. Since you lose most of your body heat through your head, hands and feet, it is definitely recommended to purchase gloves and boots as soon as you start surfing in water temperatures around the zero point. caps,
gloves and
