Surf caps Billabong

Surf caps are certainly not a luxury during winter surfing! Rather, you consider them your best friend. You lose a lot of body heat through your head. A surf cap equipped with a warm lining ensures you retain this heat and can then surf for extended periods of time. Because, who wants to get out of the water before your a sick session; due to cold ears!

Your ears are also a lot more fragile to cold temperatures and wind. When your ears are not protected against this for a long time, the phenomenon of “surfers’ ear” can arise. This means that your ear builds up cartilage to protect you from cold water conditions. With a surfers’ ear, prevention is far better than finding a cure! How can you prevent this? By wearing Surf Ears or a surf cap. You can also merge the two accessories together and this way you retain more heat and your ears are well protected from wind. It’s a win-win situation!

Surf caps often come in a thickness of 2-3mm neoprene. The inside has a lining that is comfortable and provides warmth. The outside of the surf cap is often provided with a layer of single-lined neoprene. This is a layer of neoprene that does not let water or wind through. Therefore, you get extra warmth! In most cases, the collar length of a surf cap is the biggest difference. For example, you can choose between a surf cap that has a single or double layered collar; or a neoprene beanie.
