For the real surfing goddesses who brave the cold water, there are the 6 mm wetsuits. This is the right thickness for surfing at surf spots in Scandinavia, Ireland or on the Baltic Sea. It can also be a good wetsuit if you get cold quickly in a 5 mm wetsuit. We recommend a 6mm wetsuit at a water temperature of 5 degrees and less.

A 6mm wetsuit often comes with an attached capon it. This prevents water from flowing into your wetsuit through the neck. You want to avoid that as the cold water will cool you down faster. Neoprene has an insulating effect through closed air cells. These air cells warm up to your body temperature and therefore keep you warm. A cap also keeps your ears well protected against wind and cold. Most heat is lost through the head, hands and feet. If you go surfing in these cold conditions you also need gloves and boots required. This will keep you extra warm.

Wetsuits have many different features. Consider the lining, zip and seams. All these features contribute to the warmth and comfort of the wetsuit. You can decide for yourself what suits you! We have in our wetsuit guideall features listed for you. Wetsuit sizes are the same as clothing sizes. If you have size 36 as a clothing size, then size 6 is your wetsuit size.
