Skateboarding has its roots in surfing and can be traced back to Hawaii and California in the 1960s. A group of surfers decided to "surf" the asphalt during flat days. It's hard to imagine now, but they were actually standing on a shortboard with metal wheels mounted underneath.
The skateboard we know today has little resemblance to a surfboard and has developed into a complete sport of its own. While it was previously seen as a sport for the underdogs, it has made its way to the Olympics, which indicates its popularity! However, do not underestimate skateboarding. This is a sport that literally goes with falling and getting up and is therefore seen more as a lifestyle. Skateboarding is mainly done on the street, but also in bowls and indoor parks.
A complete deck is recommended for beginners because it is a good value when you want to start practicing your first tricks. A complete deck means that you buy your deck, trucks, and wheels at once. In our collection, you will find many complete skateboard decks from well-known brands in the skate scene, such as Globe, Santa Cruz, and Element.
Are you really stoked to start skateboarding too, but are you still nervous about starting alone? Then check out our skate lessons where we will be happy to help you roll your first meter.
