At Hart Beach you can rent all the surf equipment you need to go surfing 365 days a year, thanks to the safe sandy soil you can join a surf lesson to improve your surfing skills either privately or in a group and you can enjoy our delicious food and drinks at our surf restaurant.

A surf school with a rich history

In the early 70’s Etsko Schuitema, founding father of Hart Beach, started the concept of surf right here in Scheveningen. In 1984, he added a surf school tot his concept which has shaped into the oldest surf school in the Netherlands. Hart Beach is specialised in surf lessons for beginners and advanced level adults and children. The tight crew at Hart Beach consists of enthusiastic employees and professional surf instructors who are all lifeguards with BSA qualifications. Scheveningen beach is a perfect spot to learn how to surf and Hart Beach gladly helps out. Hart Beach is also a great expeirence for kids. They can enjoy many adventures such as surf lessons, surf camps, skateboard lessons and birthday parties.

Open all year round

At the moment, Hart Beach is operated by brothers Paul and Romke Schuitema with a shop at the harbour and a permanent location st the beach. This means that you can come for a surf, a warm shower afterwards and enjoying the nice fireplace with a beverage 365 days a year. Hart Beach has much more to offer than just surfing. Have a nice meal or a drink after a long day spent at the beach. We also have many other activities such as SUP-boarding, skateboarding and even a game of beachvolleyball is possible at Hart Beach.

Arrangements and events

Would you like to have your bachelor party, birthday party or company outing at the beach? Hart Beach provides several group activities. For instance, surfing, beachgames, skateboarding or ukulele lessons. Besides the many activities, Hart Beach is aso very fit to have meetings on our terrace which you can rent exclusively for your group. Accessibility

Hart Beach is very reachable. The best route from the freeway is to head follow the signs heading to Scheveningen. Parking is available at the Northerh harbour head or on the boulevard. If you want to take public transport, then take tram 11 from “Hollands Spoor” or tram 1 or 16 from The Hague central station.
