Specially designed for surfers weighing 95 kg and above, the Big Boy Sting is a favorite model for the big boys and girls who want to combine maximum power with agility. This model has been tested and proven by Ben Aipa himself on the south shore of Oahu. The Big Boy Sting was originally designed by Ben in the late 1990s and underwent extensive testing throughout the 2000s.

After some minor modifications and the production of hundreds of boards, the Big Boy Sting is now considered the most iconic Aipa design. With the right thickness in the right places and tapered rails, combined with a narrow nose and tail, the Big Boy Sting can make tight and fast turns in the wave. This is not an inflated board for the elderly; rather, it is a precision weapon for high-performance surfers, with extra volume only where needed.

The iconic dovetail provides extra control on powerful sections and reduced drag on bottom turns. To ensure this board performs in a variety of conditions, it is equipped with a 4+1 fin setup. Surfers can choose a quad-fin setup if they want to glide over flat sections or a 2+1 setup if they need extra control in powerful waves.
