The MISC was designed with one sentiment in mind: You shouldn’t have to compromise your surfing to ride a twin-fin. As in, your surfing shouldn’t have to look like you’re on a twin…even if you are on one. We wanted to design a twin to progress your surfing; not to dumb it down. The MISC. is an extraordinary twin (or 2+1) that will actually ride like your performance board — top to bottom — but you’ll be flying around the wave with that drag-free twin fin feeling. Astoundingly drivey, super-quick and loose above the lip when searching for release, the MISC. is a team-rider favorite, now available for those wanting that elusive performance twin.
In short, the MISC. is a versatile, performance twin fin. However, considering the board has a center box for a stabilizer fin — it’s not quite a “twin,” in the definitive sense. Regardless, the design of this twin is to ride and feel like a performance board, with the subtle hints traditionally felt within a twin only in the areas of the wave where you’re pushing for the release. The outline uniquely uses a wing well behind the front fins, thus releases water later, which is why the board maintains plenty of hold off the bottom and top.
The MISC. also has the outline’s wide-point, bringing plenty of volume forward in the shape, resulting in great paddling speed. Once up and riding, exceptional feelings of “flow” and “glide” are the best sensations to describe the board. Placing the twin fins toe-in a little straighter also generates plenty of drag-free down-the-line speed. The fin-boxes have also been positioned further back in the board to lean towards hold and control.
Technically, the bottom contours on the MISC. feature a rolled vee in the entry, slight single concave under the front foot running through the board fading out at the tail.

Future Flex Technology
Designed and patented by Haydenshapes founder Hayden Cox, FutureFlex is an affluent mix of modern custom designed materials and modern design innovation for high performance surfing. The construction combines a stringer-less, high-density custom shaped EPS core laminated with biaxial fiberglass, epoxy resin and a parabolic carbon fiber frame.
The carbon fiber frame within the laminate is the key to the performance vitality of the overall product. Designed to maximize speed and drive while minimizing twist, FutureFlex essentially stores and releases energy as the surfer transitions through a turn. Tom Carroll, who was the very first person, after Hayden, to test drive the first ever FutureFlex, describes the tech as “the Ferrari of surfboards” for its fast-twitch nature and lively response. The FutureFlex construction creates a fast, dynamic and highly responsive surfboard that’s been design engineered for performance surfing ranging from the intermediate to advanced level.
